Episode 3: boygenius and Paris Paloma

boygenius is an epic indie rock super group composed of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker. They blend their styles and voices beautifully and offer a glimpse of what it is like for Indie giants to work with one another. On the other side, we have music newcomer Paris Paloma hailing from London, England

Episode 4: Broken Bells, The Pixies, and Gnarls Barkley

Broken Bells is the indie rock side project of James Mercer (The Shins) and Brian Burton (Danger Mouse) formed in 2009. In addition, we're listening to The Pixies, an iconic alternative rock group formed in 1986 consisting of Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal, and David Lovering. Rounding it off we have Gnarls Barkley a fun soul duo composed of CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse (also in Broken Bells!) formed in 2004.

Japanese Breakfast is an alternative pop band, formed in 2013, led by the amazing Michelle Zauner (author of Crying in H Mart* highly recommend), also consisting of Peter Bradley, Craig Hendrix, and Deven Craige. In addition, we're listening to My Morning Jacket! A rock group from Kentucky formed in 1998 with Jim James (vocals/guitar), Tom Blankenship (bass), Patrick Hallahan (drummer), Carl Broemel (guitar), and Bo Koster (keys).

Episode 7: Sierra Ferrell and The Kooks

Sierra Ferrell is an incredibly talented singer, songwriter from West Virginia with a country-jazzy sound. Check her out! The Kooks have their beginnings in 2004 Brighton, England. The band has Luke Pritchard (vocals/guitar), Hugh Harris (guitar/synths/bass), and Alexis Nunez (drums).

Purity Ring is an electronic pop duo from Canada formed in 2010 with vocalist Megan James blessing the world with her lovely voice and etheral vibes with Corin Roddick, multi-instrumentalist and talented producer. a-ha is of course the fun synth-pop group from Oslo, Norway formed in 1982. Founding members include Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (guitar/vocals), Magne Furuholmen (keys/guitar/vocals), and Morten Harket (vocals)

Samia is a wonderful, coming in strong, young singer-songwriter from New York City, active since 2017. The Cranberries are a mesmerizing Irish rock band formed in 1989 with the lineup consisting of Dolores O'Riordan (an absolute favorite of ours as far as incredible vocalists go), Noel Hogan (guitar), Mike Hogan (bass), and Fergal Lawler (drums)

Vera Blue (Celia Pavey) is an Australian singer-songwriter breakthrough artist after coming in 3rd on The Voice Australia. Her debut album came out in 2017. Also on repeat in our headphones is Soccer Mommy (Sophia Regina Allison), a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee.
